VISION AND MISSION
Vision
To ensure that the services to which the public is entitled are provided fairly and without delay, thereby making a comprehensive quality management system a reality.
Mission
To implement the construction and service-related activities of Thillankery Grama Panchayat efficiently, transparently and free from corruption, while adopting procedures and practices that can be properly maintained and sustained in the future.
For the sustainable development of our Grama Panchayat, the development of agriculture, which is one of the major development sectors of our Panchayat, is essential. We intend to implement the necessary projects to make all cultivable land productive and to utilize the human resources of unemployed persons, including educated unemployed youth, for agricultural activities. In response to changing climatic conditions, we will formulate and implement projects to cultivate different crops on the same land at different times, thereby ensuring a stable income for those who depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
In the animal husbandry and dairy sector, necessary projects will be formulated and implemented to promote livestock rearing, provide basic facilities for livestock, and increase milk production. If surplus production is generated in this sector, appropriate marketing facilities will be arranged.
Steps will be taken to promote micro, small and medium enterprises that can be established by utilizing the skills of educated unemployed persons and the locally available raw materials. Skill development training programmes will be organized to equip job seekers with the necessary skills and prepare them for employment.
Measures will be taken to ensure that the benefits available from the Government are provided to farmers who suffer agricultural losses due to natural disasters caused by climate change, to restore their livelihoods, and to bring crops under crop insurance schemes. Through watershed-based projects, necessary measures will be taken to preserve the biodiversity of the region and maintain soil health.
As part of the poverty eradication programme, we will work to ensure livelihood security and social security for the identified extremely poor families and Ashraya beneficiaries.
Projects for efficient management of biodegradable waste and collection of non-biodegradable waste will be continued. We will ensure that biodegradable waste is treated at source and that all non-biodegradable waste is collected and transported to appropriate waste management facilities.
Special projects will be implemented focusing on marginalized sections of society. Priority will be given to welfare programmes for children, persons with disabilities, senior citizens and women.
The Women-Friendly Panchayat initiative, aimed at empowering women in all sectors based on gender equality, will be continued.
All homeless persons, whether they own land or are landless, will be provided with dignified housing through the LIFE Housing Scheme.
Projects will be prepared for the development of basic infrastructure in the health and education sectors.
A doorstep service programme will be implemented to ensure that all necessary services are made available at the doorsteps of persons who are destitute, dependent and without adequate support.
Sustainable development means continuous growth in the agricultural, industrial, commercial and trade sectors, along with improving the quality of life of all people and enabling them to lead happy and fulfilling lives. For this purpose, projects must focus particularly on those who are most disadvantaged in society and the economy. This is the area on which our Panchayat will concentrate its efforts.
