Budget 2026-27
Presenting the income and expenditure estimates of Thillankery Grama Panchayat for the financial year 2026–27 is not merely an exercise in presenting figures. Rather, it is a precise blueprint of the dreams, aspirations and goals of our Panchayat for the coming year. The success of a budget lies in how creatively and effectively we can utilize our limited resources.
The budget has been prepared after assessing our activities and achievements during the previous year and with a clear focus on being prepared to meet emerging challenges. Along with progress and transparency, equal importance is given to infrastructure development and welfare activities through an agricultural budget with a strong emphasis on the productive sector.
We intend to formulate and implement various initiatives such as farmer welfare schemes, insurance coverage, provision of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural equipment, and support for paddy, coconut, vegetables and value-added agricultural products. Agricultural markets and farmers’ markets will be promoted. Modern technology and mechanization will be encouraged, including initiatives such as “Yantrashree”, through which tractors, harvesting machines and other agricultural machinery can be made available to farmers at affordable rental rates. Greenhouse farming and organic agriculture will also be promoted.
Initiatives such as a Labour Bank, e-Gramam and Coffee Village will be encouraged as part of our vision for sustainable development and self-sufficiency.
We must build an economy that values the sweat and hard work of farmers who transform the soil into gold. We should be able to make agriculture a profitable livelihood and encourage the younger generation who have an interest in farming to return to the land. Our goal is to create a “Complete Agricultural Village.”
We must achieve the objective of comprehensive development with a strong focus on the productive sector, while also generating additional resources through the tourism sector. The empowerment of women will be strengthened through Kudumbashree, while embracing the entire community and promoting art, literature and collective participation.
Through initiatives such as “Thillankery Peruma” and the “Thillankery Mahotsavam,” we aspire to realize our development vision by bringing together the people of Thillankery.
With this vision and with a reminder that we must move forward together to realize our development dreams, I hereby present the Budget of Thillankery Grama Panchayat for the financial year 2026–27.
